Beth Neale freedived her way to 2 South African records to raise funds for IAMWATERs Ocean Conservation Outreach and Education Programs! 💙 Read Beths Interview with DeeperBlue in the run-up to her dives!

Beth broke the South African Bifin freediving record while using her custom Apnea range Spierre Pure Carbon fins!

The funds raised by the records set by Beth will be used to take underprivileged children on a life changing ocean education and experience program!

See Beths account of her freedive records.

"I dived down into the beautiful big blue and surfaced a South African Freediving Record Holder. And then I did it again.
I was able to break two South African and Pure Apnea records in two consecutive dives because of the unbelievable and overwhelming support that I have received on this journey to dive to record depths to fundraise for IAMWATER Ocean Conservation. Both dives were the happiest and most beautiful dives of my life, and they felt easy! I broke the Free Immersion Record by diving to 55m (apparently it’s the African Continental Record too!) and then 5 minutes later I broke the Bi-Fins Record by diving to 42m.

My target was to raise $3000 and people’s generosity far exceeded my expectations. When the fundraiser closed, the amount totaled $3650 from 58 kind donations.
I would like to thank all of those who contributed to the fundraiser. Your willingness to support me financially certainly made me feel more confident that I could achieve my goal of breaking records to introduce underprivileged children to the wonders of the ocean for the first time...

I would also like to thank all of those who were involved in supporting me in so many other ways. I was so blessed with an astounding team of people who were there for me every step of the way, helping me to believe that anything is possible if you have the right intentions and believe in yourself. You all know who you are. Thank you.
I am extremely fortunate that my work as I AM WATER’s Outreach and Education Manager allows me to inspire children to become Ocean Ambassadors. With the funds raised, the I AM WATER Team will be running an Ocean Adventure and Experience Programme with a difference. Follow us and the details will soon be revealed, but it involves mermaids!"

Mozambique Spearfishing with SPIERRE
Mozambique Spearfishing with SPIERRE

August 28, 2017

Some photos from a  spearfishing trip to Mozambique where we had warm weather conditions, we dived two good reefs coming up from 35 to 15meters which attracted some nice game fish - on our second day out Michael shot a 31kg saily and I managed to get a 20kg couta. The next day I got a nice 14kg wahoo and during our stay we managed to shoot a number of very nice fish such as good size Kaakap of up to 9kg and a number of nice size coutas and other Kingfish.
